Profiles in History

Profiles in History is based in Beverly Hills, California and was started in 1985 as a seller of primarily historical autographs. In 1995 they expanded into the entertainment arena and began selling screen used prop and wardrobe items. Their early prop auctions were held once a year. In 2005 and 2006 such auctions were held three or four times a year. Profiles in History was in the 2005 Guinness Book of World Records for the "Most Valuable TV costume sold" which was
a Superman suit from the 1955 series "The Adventures of Superman" which sold for $129,800.00. Throughout their auctions they have sold a variety of truly one of a kind artificats including a Miniature Starship Enterprise from Star Trek, lightsabers from Star Wars, a Darth Vader Helmet, and the Lost in Space Robot. Their auctions are held live in Beverly Hills and online via ebay live auctions so live auction bidders and ebay bidders can bid on things at the same time when they auction is underway. Items they sell range in price from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands.

Catalog Info

Their auction catalogs are available for $30 while they can also be viewed online in PDF format or via ebay a little after that. Its ironic that the catalogs are usually online before they are mailed out. If you win any item in a Profiles in History Auction you automatically get catalogs for their future auctions.
