WHAT IS ALIEN NATION?
Alien Nation was a Sci-fi movie that prompted a subsequent tv series which ran for one year. After that Alien Nation continued on as a series of made for TV movies. Alien nation is a story of the struggles for acceptance of an alien people known as the newcomers. In many ways the alien nature of the newcomers masks the true racial element which the saga speaks of. Alien Nation was a series based on the creative genuis of Kenneth Johnson who previously had created the succesful V TV Mini Series Saga. To some Alien Nation was an attempt by Kenneth Johnson to continue the V Saga and its story of persection and discrimination. Alien Nation was famous for its campy humor and the creativity that went behind the newcomer culture and physiology. Alien Nation commented on everything from the racial divide, to sexuality, and interracial marriages. In the end the work served more as a work of social commentary than as a work of traditional Science fiction with battles, monsters, and special effects.
