The Colonial Marines were originally send to a colony out in space that had not reported in for some time. They were sent on behalf of corporate interests to investigate as this was a money making venture. As they landed they encountered no one at all; no bodies, no blood, nothing at all. But in the end they were to battle an alien menace that had destroyed the colony and would destroy almost all of the colonial marines sent except for Ripley who really just went initially to share scientific expertise.

The colonial marines had many memorable indivduals including, Vasquez, Drake, Hicks, and Bishop. With pulse rifles ablazing they fought to the end.
